It’s the end of the school year here. You can tell because we’re filling our family calendar with recitals and graduations and preparing for Last Day of School Photos. Then there’s teacher gifts. In preschool the idea was exciting – coming up with an adorable and meaningful gift for your child’s first teacher.
Once kindergarten rolls around the games changes a little though – there’s homeroom teachers, PE, art, music and technology teachers – there’s the lunch monitor that always had your kid’s back on the playground, the nurse who dispensed bandages and hugs all year long and the lady in the front office who always offered encouragement and a smile when you arrived to school late and barely out of your pajamas. Oh, and don’t forget the bus drivers because you know what it’s like driving around with a car full of hyper kids!
You don’t want to leave anyone out, so you’re suddenly scrambling for inexpensive teacher gift ideas that will let everyone know how much you appreciated them this year without breaking the bank.
We have four kids – which means all this times four! On top of that, my four year old went to a preschool this year that worked with student teachers. 17 of them! It’s a little overwhelming and if I purchased an individual gift for each person my end of year shopping would rival my Christmas shopping. This year we decided to do something simple and fun so I made these STAY COOL THIS SUMMER gift tags.
Our favorite idea involved putting them on some sunglasses! They can bring enough for everyone, and knowing their school, the bright glasses will make for some fun end of year pictures together!
We’re also attaching some to water bottles, tumblers and baseball caps! To make your own inexpensive teacher gift with these tags simply download the tags below, open the PDF and print! Each page has six tags you can cut out and punch a hole into. Use colorful ribbon to attach them to your sunglasses! These even make great end of year classroom gifts or a fun PTA handout at an end of year picnic!
If you want to personalize this even more you can use a fine tip sharpie to write the class year on the sides of the glasses, or attach a coffee gift card to the back of the tag so your favorite teachers can cool down with a treat! Now that the gifting is done we can print out Screen Time Charts, new Behavior Charts and start making a list of boredom busting summer activities!
