Every year we make a Leprechaun trap for St. Patrick’s Day with the kids. If you’ve never heard of a Leprechaun Trap before, the idea is pretty simple – if you manage to trap a leprechaun he’ll leave you treats or gold in exchange for his freedom!
Now, Leprechauns are pretty crafty and smart, so to trap one you need to think outside of the box! Leprechaun Trap Crafts are a great way to get kids thinking and creating.
Will they design hidden trap doors or elaborate systems to catch a cunning Leprechaun? Leprechaun Traps can be made from all sorts of materials you have laying around the house – so this is a great way to let creativity and imagination run wild!
The kids wake up excited on St. Patrick’s Day morning, hoping a little Leprechaun has left behind something fun for them to find. Chocolate (or real!) coins, candies – especially the rainbow variety, and sometimes even sneaky tricks have been waiting for us on St. Patrick’s Day. One year all of the chairs were turned upside down! The next year our sneakers were replaced with slippers!
The best part? The Leprechaun only has a one night gig, so there won’t be any complicated weeks long traditions here! Check out these amazing Leprechaun traps and use them as inspiration when creating your own!
