If the saying “April Showers Bring May Flowers” holds any truth, I simply cannot wait to see the blooms we have in store for us! It feels like almost all of April has been a rainy day here in NY. We had planned back in March to expand our drip irrigation system into the garden, and waiting for a dry couple of days to do the work has been frustrating! The temperatures have warmed up though, and the kids are way too anxious for spring to let a little rain keep them indoors, so we’ve been spending lots of time jumping in puddles and tasting raindrops lately.
It also happened to be the perfect time to partner with ShedRain and review some of their adorable new Cirra umbrella styles, available only at our favorite store – Target! I have to admit, I’m not always a huge umbrella fan. We have a stash of large, drab umbrellas in our house that are just about as dreary as another rainy April day, which is why I was so excited when I saw the new colors and prints ShedRain had to offer – and couldn’t wait to get my hands on some!
I received three umbrellas to check out. The first one we opened up was immediately snatched by my kids because it’s covered in adorable, colorful ice cream cones! This Cirra Compact Umbrella might be the perfect size for kids, but it’s also the perfect size for stashing in my purse on an overcast day when I need a “just in case” umbrella, or when I have my hands full and need something I can stash away. The ice cream cone print is perfect too, with just enough color to pass as a kids umbrella or as a cute accessory for me!
Next was the Cirra Bubble Umbrella in black stripe, and I absolutely love this one. Bubble Umbrellas are great for hard rain and windy days and the black stripe pattern on this umbrella is stylish and simple. I used this umbrella on a few very windy days and the wind simply can’t turn it inside out. It’s also auto open, which is great when you’re running out with your hands full of children of bags in the morning! I also love the generous handle on this umbrella that allows me a secure grip and can also slide easily over my arm when I’m juggling diaper bags and backpacks at school pick up.
This Blue Polka Dot Stick Umbrella is my new go-to on rainy days though. I love the bright color and fun pattern that makes it feel much more like an accessory than a necessity! And it folds up so nicely that it’s easy to carry or stick in the car for unexpected bad weather.
Overall, I’m so impressed with the quality of all the ShedRain umbrellas we tried. They open and close easily and are well made. The handles are sturdy and I love the selection of colors and patterns! And buying a new one gives me a reason to head to Target too!
Which one of ShedRain’s new spring styles would you love to have?
