In the past few months I’ve received a few requests to make a Last Day of School Printable Chalkboard Sign to match my First Day of School Printables. With the end of the year rapidly approaching I’ve finally managed to make a companion printable!
Creating a great Last Day of School photo tradition is simple – just follow the instructions for downloading, personalizing and printing these signs! The signs print at 8X10 and look great being used alone, or you can put them in a frame like we do here.
Once you download the image you’ll be adding your child’s details using photo editing software like Paint.Net or Photoshop. Using fun fonts can make the sign really great, so I’m including a list of fonts that I used in the example signs below as well!
Step 1: I’ve created two color schemes, primary and bright, so the first step is to download the image you want:
Primary Color Sign
Step 2: Open the image in a photo editing program. I use Paint.Net, which is free and easy to use, but you can use Photoshop or any other editor of your choice.
Step 3: Add your text to each area. Here is a list of fonts I used for my signs. You’ll have to download and install each font you would like to use.
- Chalk Hand Lettering
- Dingle Berries
- DK Cool Crayon
- DK Sleepy Time
- June Gloom
- Series Orbit
- Sketch Block
- Pencil Pete
Step 4: Save your changes and print your image. When printing, choose heavy weight cardstock if possible and make sure the box that says “fit picture to frame” is NOT checked.
Just like that, you’ve go a perfect year-end photo prop! I’m working on updating the Back to School Chalkboard sign, subscribe to my newsletter to make sure you don’t miss it!
In the meantime, check out my other school printables!
Do you have any special last day of school traditions?
Hello,
Do you have the link to download Paint.net? I searched and found many different ones. I am afraid to download a virus.
Thanks!
Nuni
