My oldest son loves getting school lunch, so I haven’t had to pack lunch on a regular basis in years, but A is starting kindergarten this year and he is the king of picky eaters. He’s nervous about school to begin with, so I know I’ll be packing lunches for a little while at least.
I’ve been trying to come up with ideas that are healthy, but also include the very few foods he actually enjoys – something that is beginning to feel impossible.
I really want to give him something to smile about when he opens up his lunch!
I’ve always included notes in the boys lunch or snack bags. I think it’s a nice reminder of home, especially if they are having a tough day.
I started looking around for lunch box notes with his favorite super heroes on them, hoping to instill a little playground bravery and remind him of one of his favorite games to play with his brothers. They’re really hard to find though. After a couple days of searching around I threw in the towel and decided to make some of my own – and I really like the way they came out. I think A will love them, so I wanted to share them here.

Thanks, Sheila! My son is a Batman guy too.. he likes to say “Don’t make me use my Batman voice” when he’s frustrated. 😉
