Once again I find myself wondering exactly where summer has gone as I scramble to organize bus schedules, school shopping lists and last minute summer sleepovers for my boys while I try to pack in all of the things we need to do before summer officially ends.
This year I’m in extra panic mode, as my kids like to call it, because my oldest son is going to middle school. Yes. Every elementary school parents worst nightmare – my son is becoming a “tween” and joining the ranks of kids “who’s moms let them stay up way later, watch way more scary movies and play way more video games than I do”. Or so says my almost-“tween”.
As excited as my son is to be one of the middle schoolers, I know he’s nervous about this next step as well. Locker combinations, more responsibility, middle school sports – even though I know my son totally has this whole middle school thing, I also know he’s going to need lots of support and encouragement as he figures that out.
Like almost all of us, I’ve been spending my nights scouring Pinterest for fun (but still cool) lunch ideas, and I’ve already come to terms with knowing that my big-kid is too old for my favorite Super Hero Lunchbox Notes.
This year I’ve come up with some lunchbox notes that I’m really excited about. These “Inspo Notes” are designed to be low-key inspirational – colorful and fun enough to pass in a 6th grade lunchroom, but also holding a message I hope my son takes to heart when he reads them.. that he’s amazing, awesome and perfect the way he is. Something I don’t think any child can hear too often.

So grab this free printable below and tuck these notes into your child’s lunchbox or pencil case, paperclip them to binders or favorite books – let your kids uncover inspirational reminders throughout their day. Or print these and encourage your kids to share them with friends and classmates who might need a pick me up during the day!
And while you’re printing these check out my Printable Chalkboard Back to School Signs for a fun and customized back to school photo shoot (and send me some good vibes so that I can convince all my boys to take great pics again this year!).
