Dropping by the Crayola booth at Toy Insider’s Holiday of Play last month was a lot of fun! We had a chance to preview some of their newest toys and I was noticing a definite theme – personalizing! I love toys that allow kids to unleash their creativity – something that Crayola is well known for. This year they’ve stepped it up a notch, allowing kids to work outside of the box.
The Crayola Crayon Carver is a really cute idea. You take a crayon and place it into the crayon carver. From there it is very simple to remove the paper wrapper, select your unique template and care the words and symbols into your crayons. Kids can label crayons by color, add their names or the names of their friends and fill the crayons with a selection of different symbols. The kit is easy to use and contains the mess of carved wax really well.
We also saw the Cling Creator. This set allows children to make their very own window clings. Similar to the gel clings you may find in the store, the Cling Creator makes clings that adhere to just about any window! The best part is that kids can mix and customize colors to use in the plastic templates or they can use the included clay to make their very own designs. My son really loves the cling creator and has been know to fill our windows with Minecraft Creeper faces thanks to easy to use clay.
Both products do a great job of making the process and the clean up simple and will allow kids to make something that will truly be their own design!
